RUSTIC WEDDING MAKEUP
By Kim Nase
Rustic wedding makeup should be organic and earthy. A tangerine stained lip, muted smokey eye, and lightly bronzed cheek create a natural, yet stunning look. Tangerine is very popular this year for lip color, and can be stunning when tastefully translated for a bridal look. Mix Milani Color Statement lipstick in Sweet Nectar with Maybelline’s Color Sensational Lipcolor in Neon red. Apply with your finger tip, working the color into your lips. This will create a beautiful stained effect. Apply a little bit of clear gloss to the center of your lips and pat in with your finger tip, making your lips look irresistible.
To create a muted smoky eye, use soft matte taupe’s and browns. Urban Decay Naked Basics makes an easy to use palette that is perfect for this look. Use a fluffy eye shadow brush to apply Naked 2 (a light taupe) from your lash line to your crease. Use a pencil brush to lightly apply this color on your lower lash line. Apply Faint (a medium brown) to your outer corners with a pencil brush. Highlight your brow bone with W.O.S. (a light pink/taupe color) with a fluffy eye shadow brush. Make sure to blend so that there are no definite lines. Lightly line your lash line with Covergirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze. Use your fluffy eye shadow blush to re-blend over the eyeliner.
For a bronzed cheek, sweep on BOBBI BROWN bronzing powder using BOBBI BROWN’s bronzing brush. Sweep bronzer lightly where the sun would naturally touch your face. Work Makeup Forever HD blush in Peachy Pink into the apples of your cheeks using your finger tip for a natural, sculpted flush.
