Country Music Singer Austin Webb: Charismatic & Talented.

It doesn't take long after meeting country singer-songwriter Austin Webb, to realize that he is as charismatic as talented. He is down-to-earth, exuding natural charisma and a whole lot of fun. His upbeat attitude fills the stage with big energy that draws in the crowd to participate and take notice. Elvis-style and a rock edge are tangible in the upbeat performances. And his southern drawl is definitely sexy ladies!

Webb is considered an up-and-coming country artist, whose music combines the genres of country and soul. These two genres are evident as he performs the ballad 'Slip on By', which is heartfelt and soulful. It's the kind of song that grabs you to stop, take in the moment and reflect. The lyrics remind us of what's important in life; to appreciate every moment and not just let them slip by. The stirring lyrics leading into the second chorus grab at the heart strings, “It ain’t easy always looking back, but it seems these days that it’s all I have. And what hurts me the most is knowing what could have been.” Webb sings the second chorus with soulful passion. “Hear the sound of my little boy saying, Daddy can you come play with me? But I was too busy. Then one day my baby grew up and went to war, I never thought he’d be gone in the blink of an eye. Don’t let it slip on, don’t let it slip on, don’t let it slip on by.”
Webb grew up in Williamston, S.C. listening to Mowtown, R&B, Rock, and Retro-Country from the 50's, 60's and 70's. He loved authors like Oscar Wilde, O. Henry, Walt Whitman and Dylan Thomas. His personal tastes and poetic ability, which started at the early age of 16, can be felt in his music. His down-to-earth upbringing may lend to his ability to connect with the audience. He started out playing in Atlanta, GA, working odd jobs (he worked 25 different jobs), including working at a BMW plant. "I've always had to work hard for everything, nothing was ever handed to me. My Family is not very rich, they're just regular people, so I had to do a lot of things for myself, and so I've always had a pretty good work ethic."

His big break came after taking a destined trip to Nashville where he won a songwriting competition, the Nashville Connection. He then moved to Nashville and was offered a publishing deal from Grammy award-winning producer Byron Gallimore co-owner of Streamsound Records (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sugarland).

The catchy lyrics of Austin Webb's new single, 'All Country One You' will quickly become a favorite sing-a-long with quips referencing the 'crazy' of a relationship gone bad. The song is upbeat and fun, with the chorus, "Don't tick her off, break her heart, tell her lies - Don't feed her any lipstick alibis - Ain't nothing she can't see through, no telling what she might do… When she goes all country on you. And playful lines like "Going all Carrie Underwood on my truck" shine through the polished arrangement. It's a how-to for guys to not 'mess up' with lines like, "You can't blame know one else, when you brought it all on yourself."

Q&A with Singer-Songwriter Austin Webb

LFM: What would surprise us about you?
Webb: I used to wear brand new socks every single day.

LFM: Where do you hang your hat when not on the road?
Webb: I live in Nashville, TN.

LFM: What is your favorite decorating style?
Webb: I get most of my stuff from thrift stores and yard sales. I like the Southwestern/Northwestern Native American style art and décor.

LFM: Do you have a favorite piece of furniture in your home?
Webb: My favorite piece of furniture is my table for vinyl records in my reading room.

LFM: Most of us know that life on the road can be a challenge, do you have a personal ritual or routine that keeps you motivated and balanced?
Webb: It’s different each week. The word “balance” can't even come close to describing how weird it is to manage. It can be exhausting. For instance, I’m writing from my home in Nashville, TN at 4 PM. I woke up at 5 AM this morning in Grand Rapids, MI. You’re either born to travel, or not. I keep thinking I was born to do it.

LFM: What does a typical day look like for you?
Webb: There’s no such thing. Hah, Every day is totally different. Only thing the same is the music.

LFM: How do you and your band overcome the obstacles faced at this stage in your career? Do you work well together?
Webb: Yes, we all work together and very hard. My band works hard for me and I do the same for them. My main goal at this stage in my career is to be invited back. We clean up our green rooms, be courteous and just generally easy to work with. That’s the best thing I believe any artist can do.

LFM: What is your favorite movie of all time?
Webb: Shawshank Redemption

LFM: What type of artist do you aspire to be?
Webb: I aspire to stay happy and be honest and true to myself as I am today.

LFM: Is there one thing that you didn't expect or has surprised you about becoming a singer-songwriter and performer of country music? Webb: Nothing has really surprised me. In fact, it's quite the opposite. The industry is exactly like you’d assume.

LFM: Do you have a favorite musician that inspires you?
Webb: My favorite musicians are street performers playing for tips.

LFM: Do you remain close with your family?
Webb: I really try to. I travel a lot and it's sad not being able to spend time with them as much as I'd like, but I’m hoping to spend more time as much as I can.

LFM: Do you have a favorite you'd like to share, or a favorite place you like to eat?
Webb: I like to cook. I don’t really have recipes, but I use a lot of Ms.Dash seasoning!
