ICED COFFEE RECIPE

Start summer off with perfectly pressed iced coffee - without an extra trip to the local cafe. A light, smooth coffee blend is the best option for making iced coffee. Starbucks BLONDE VERANDA BLEND is a great option for homemade iced coffee. This recipe makes four homemade iced coffee drinks. Serve in Mason jar glasses filled with ice (8 cup French press yields about 34 ounces).





Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons ground coffee - Starbucks BLONDE VERANDA BLEND for smooth iced coffee
  • 34 oz boiling water - between 195 and 200 degrees F
  • 8 cup French press
  • 4 chilled glasses or Mason jars

Directions

  • Set glasses in the fridge or freezer until chilled.
  • Grind 4 tablespoons fresh coffee beans.
  • Heat water to between 195 and 200 degrees F
  • on the stovetop. Dunk an instant read thermometer into water and measure.
    When the thermostat reads 200 degrees F, pour into the French press.
  • Remove the lid and plunger from French press; add ground coffee.
  • Pour 34 ounces hot water to ground coffee in the French press, place lid and
    plunger back on press. Let ground coffee steep for 4 minutes. After 4 minutes,
    press plunger down and prepare to serve.
  • Allow coffee to cool to prevent melting the ice. Once cooled, mix with ice in a chilled glass. Add cream or almond milk, and touch of vanilla flavoring, if desired. Typical French press measurements: 4 C = 17.5, 8 C = 34 oz, and 12 C = 51 oz.
